Are you subscribed to Telus' T-Up program? If so, you have to be 12 months before you can take advantage of the upgrade option.
If not, you can either pay out your current balance, and sell the phone on the open market, or trade it in for up to $250 off a new device.
Usually you will do better on a sale than a trade-in, in most people's experience.
