Anyone knows if a SMS service will eventually be offered for tablets?

On the iPad the closest you'll get is iMessage since that can be associated with an email address. Other than that, the iPad isn't usually considered a phone. SMS is usually associated with a phone number.

What if they have an iPad cellular?

Do those actually have cell phone numbers assigned to them?

If there is a SIM card inserted..... yes, there is a number for that sim card.

Then it'll likely boil down to whether or not Telus wants to enable SMS on cellular tablets from their end.

Right. Ipad wi-fi cellular, sim card and phone number assigned. I was hoping a moderator might have a crystal ball on Telus future plans...
