Note 2

What is up with the keyboard since the update a couple of months ago. I can't take it anymore. Email would be faster and less frustrating than text at this point.

Specifically, there is a major lag in messaging, but not in any other app. It seems rather random as well. Sometimes the delay is longer than other times. Sometimes my typing is so far ahead of what is going up on the screen that it will partially duplicate what I have already typed numerous times. At times the keyboard will disappear altogether. Picture texts will sometimes appear in the stream among texts from an hour earlier, other times they may not open at all. I will often get some of my texts hours after they were sent to me and at times they come in out of order. If I am messaging with more than one person at a time it gets exponentially worse. The phone is just over a year old and I love it aside from the texting issue.

Hi, before trying a full hardware reset, can you try to downlaod the text application called handcent from the google playstore? Try it to see if you're having the same issue with your text messages, if that doesn't help, you may need to do a full hardware reset. Try making a back-up first, using the samsung kies program.

I find most software issues can be cured with a complete wipe and reinstall. I know it seems like an extreme measure but it is usually the best solution to the problem.  It also gives your phone that new phone feel when you see only the original factory apps and settings.

Make sure that you backup your device before the factory reset

Tried the factory reset...didn't fix it. 😞

If you have twitter try contacting the fine folks over at @telussupport. They will check to see if it could ve a network issue. I have in the past had slow messages and after a refresh on the account side it was fixed. Is device almost at capacity?
