Moving sim card to used phone

I have an lg chat phone that has a broken screen. I want to pull the sim card out of the phone and place it my other lg phone. However the card will not work in the phone. Both phones are identical. Online they say that you just have to place the sim card into the phone and it will work. Am i missing some step?

If it fit and doesn't work, then you might want to make sure that either the device is a TELUS device or that it's unlocked properly.

You say both phones are identical (same model?) so there shouldn't be an issue with SIM card size.

You are lacking details on what the problem is.

1) Do you know that the other phone works with any SIM card?

2) Is the other phone a TELUS phone?

3) When you say it doesn't work what do you mean? It can't get signal? It doesn't power up? You get an error? What?

If it doesn't work, might be the phone not unlocked or something so it's not picking up the Telus network?
