How to use the Apple SIM in my NEXUS

hippoyoyo

I have an old Nexus phone and would like to use it with the existing SIM (from my iPhone 4). The Nexus keeps saying that it cannot detect the SIM after I put the SIM into the  SIM slot. Looks like I need an adapter for that? Does anyone know a good one to buy (online or store)?

Thanks!

Check out eBay for tons of adaptors for a great price.

I swap my SIM cards between my Galaxy Nexus (full SIM) and Nexus 4  (micro IM) regularly with no issues.

Actually SIMs for apple devices are special some are microsim and if you try to put one of them into a regular phone it wont work. I would suggest you to get a simcard by your own, it will cost you $10 and you can either activate it online or call *611 to get it activated. Sim cards can only be purchased at the store. 🙂 Hope this would help you!

Your Nexus is probably a standard sim size. Does your Nexus look like this? If so it is a standard sim. Your iPhone 4 is a micro sim. If you line up the metal on the micro to the metal on your nexus it may work, but you can also go online and pick up a micro sim to standard sim adapter, which will fit in your nexus like a normal sim. It will look something like this.

Hope that helps!

Hi,  you can always purchase a SIM card for $10 at the TELUS store and activate it online.

Thank you all for the help! If I go to a TELUS store to get a regular SIM and activate it, I guess the old micro SIM will be deactivated automatically right? In that case, I may just get an adaptor so I can switch between two phones.

Hey hippoyoyo, actually I would suggest you to get new sim, to avoid any error connection. 🙂

Hi Hippoyoyo, yes you can only have 1 active sim card at any given time on one phone number. Getting an adapter should theoretically work, however it is not supported by Telus, so try at your own risk!
