GPS Tracker Watch with Calling for kids

Hi there, hoping some of this community can help me out.  I am looking for a gps tracker with 2 way calling that will work on the Telus network.  This is for my 10 year old daughter so i don't want a phone that can be misplaced.  I just want to be able to know when she gets on and off the bus from school.  Has anyone had any experience with these trackers on the Telus network?  Thanks to all.

No direct experience, but I recall many were 2G cellular only, and Telus does not have a 2G network. If you choose one, make sure it will run on a 3G network. AT&T compatible is easiest to select.

• you might want to post something in the Ideas area.  Not just for kids.... I would love it for elderly, those that do eldercare would benefit knowing where their loved ones have wondered off to.

• I hear there are apps that can be put on smartphones.  I'll let others comment on such apps.
• 10yr old?  Is she likely to drop things or have things taken from her?  A warning about cheap phones is the battery life is lousy.  Smartphones may be useless if you need to charge it more than once a day.
• there's no 2 way calling.... but I used affordable satellite beacons from Spot when my mom was having troubles remembering and getting lost.  I recharge the AAA's once a month.  Throw that in the kid's backpack.
