Just wondering if you have to give 30 days notice to cancel cell service with Telus ?
Or how does it work ?
There is no device balance in case you were going to ask .

Thanks

I'm paying 20 bucks a month right now for 500 megs of data on my phone , which sucks  . While Koodoo has 3 gigs of data right now and nation wide calling for 65 bucks . And that's for everyone , no special deals .

Telus offers similar just now for $75, if you bring your own phone. Telus has better travel options, and a number of other services which may or may not be important for you, including better phone subsidy rates, and telephone support. Ultimately, the choice is yours and you should search out the deal that best meets your needs.

If you're not on contract, just call in. If you want to move your number to another provider, do that first though or you will lose the number. If you're curious if any deals are possible, speak with loyalty as well. Never hurts to ask. 🙂

Loyalty ???

Last October the Loyalty Dept. called me and offered me a new S7 Samsung Galaxy for being a great customer for so many years . I was driving so the lady said she would call back in a 1/2 hour when I was parked , NEVER called back . I called the next day and they said they had no idea which rep offered me the deal and said they would be in contact . Never heard back , again .

Last December Telus called me and offered me an extra gig of data for a dollar . Sure I said , it never appeared on my account . So I called and the rep said they had no idea who called me , so no bonus .

When I try and select a new S8 it wont let me have that phone unless its a 90 dollar a month plan . I have a 75 dollar plan now with an S5 , what justifies the added 15 dollars a month ? I can only get that 80 dollar plan with 3 gigs if I keep my old dinosaur 🙂

A $900 subsidy?

you should be able to buy the phone on a lesser cost plan if you pay more up front.

If you buy a new phone as part of a plan, you end up with a new plan. The newer ones have shorter terms to pay off the cost of the phone as well. Plus the S8 is the most expensive phone offered currently. The exchange rate for the Canadian $ is also part of the pain as well. The worst it gets, the more expensive the phones are to bring in. The cost of the S8 is higher than the iPhone. If you can afford to purchase the new phone in full (not from Telus) you can keep your old plan. I did that and I bought a OnePlus One a while ago so I could keep my old plan, and I really like the phone. I'm curious what the new OnePlus 5 is going to be (releases 06/20)...

Base costs, unlocked before tax:

iPhone 7 128GB (mid) $1029.
iPhone 7+ 32GB (Base) $1049
iPhone 7+ 128GB (mid) $1179
