Beware of In store sales tactics

We have had two very disappointing in store experiences at Market Mall. Four days ago, we went in store to upgrade one of our phones to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold when the salesperson insisted we do not have EPP pricing and would have to pay $30 more a month X4 cell phones. We left and where going to sign up with Rogers after 15 years with Telus because my spouse has an eligible EPP with Rogers. But we have always been Telus supporters and wanted to try again so went back to the store tonight. Thankfully this sales agent was able to confirm our EPP but just as we were about to close the sale, she stated she could not honor the $0 pixel 3 watch sale deal. There is a big sign at the front door advertising this sale. We left with a bad taste on our mouth and are considering our options. These two experiences have greatly impacted our trust in Telus. Protect yourself as a consumer, do your homework, and know you have options. Limited as they are.

Watches and EPP have been a challenge for a long time. The sign in the window is definitely advertising retail / consumer plans, and wouldn’t apply to EPP in my experience. One has to decide if the benefits of the EPP plan outweigh those of consumer plans.
