Android Marshmallow Update

What about the Moto X 2014? Motorola says the device for carrier TELUS will receive Android M.

Thanks for the UPD8 on the ST8 of the M8! Even if it's L8 and I H8 to W8 that's GR8!

The most frustrating thing, in my opinion, is not waiting for the Android updates, it's the difficulty with finding a straight (and reliable) answer from Telus. Even on this very page, posts are not in any identifiable order (certainly not chronological). But yeah...why should a telecommunications company be expected to excel at, um, communicating...? Surely carriers have more insight from manufacturers than Telus is sharing with its customers.

Looking forward to the g4 android m update. Hopefully its on schedule for feb. 1

@RKinMTL I have to agree.  There is no rhyme or reason to the order that this discussion is happening in... Can someone that moderates or works for Telus explain why everything is out of order?

Still no update...

@RKinMTL @mhinc & @Jarmin we hear you.

As @RhoLee mentioned ealier, we discovered a few bugs in the latest OS build the Friday prior to the last launch date (Jan 18th). We've been working with HTC to patch them and hope to launch the latest version on Feb 4th.

@A_Kron, what does "we hear you" even mean? I don't own an HTC device; this message board is still terrible to navigate (clicking on the links in the emails notifying me of updates to my subscribed threads like this one results in a blank web browser window); and I am no closer to knowing when my Galaxy S6 will be updated. So, tell me, what do you hear?

@RKinMTL We are migrating to a new community platform tomorrow. The bugs with navigation and errors loading the page should be fixed. More details on the migration can be found here

With respect to your comment about the Samsung S6 update, as soon as we have next the build from the OEM, we will update this list with a release date. More information about the software update life-cycle can be found here.

@A_Kron, it is nice to see that you are responsive as an admin here. Thanks for your posts. I do hope the new community platform proves to be easier to navigate.

I still believe that manufacturers and developers must be providing some sort of schedule to carriers such as Telus, and I still think Telus' customers would prefer for this to be made more transparent. I know I would. And as long as this transparency is not added, I can only assume it's because Telus, for example, doesn't want customers to know how long they take to pass updates on to their customers once they get the builds from the OEM.

Just wanted to update @RKinMTL and @mhinc that the post sorting is working and showing the posted times in the desktop view of the site.

Thanks for your patience!

So will the HTC One m9 actually be getting the marshmallow update tomorrow? Or will we all just be getting excited for nothing again? Please respond and let us know if the update will still be rolling out tomorrow. Also, is it 6.0 or 6.0.1?

Thank you for your fast response I appreciate it. Will the update start rolling out at midnight tonight or is there a certain time the gradual roll out will start?

Aside from the physical difference with the Galaxy series of phones, what is really the difference between them? Why would the S6 have a target launch date that is almost 1 month behind that of the S6 Edge?

It has been available for a long time from Samsung and released for some devices by Telus already.

The update schedule is posted  here and updated regularly (so don't be fooled by the original post date).

Nothing for the S6 listed for January.

Last I saw online is that Samsung plans to have 6.0 out in the first quarter of this year depending on the device and if they are operating like usual, they will be behind schedule.

The target launch dates for the Galaxy series of phones has arrived!

It is probably a longer wait than we all had hoped for, but it will be here soon.
