I played with bluesky it was nothing amazing, channel resolution wasn't sharp and lagged on channel changes. The receivers maybe 4K capable but there isn't any 4k Shaw channels.

It's nothing compared to Optik TV which is still leaps and bounds ahead and Telus has way more channel selection. They're touting 2 new channels Telus has had for Months..

Lol, Telus has had 4K content for quite some time now.  Telus is also less expensive than Shaw, with many many more 4K channels.

Unless Shaw has recently changed, they have no where near the number of HD channels as Telus.  In fact, almost all channels on Telus are in HD.

And why the "all caps"?  Do you find it necessary to yell?

Thanks

Lots of SD to HD Upgrades...

and the last time they post or announced a major redesign and speed performance improvement was back in July '17

I think they had a minor update back in this early year '19 maybe January.. but nothing diff!

It looks like Shaw is slowly catching up to Telus Optik TV, but they still have a long ways to go, and in my opinion, well never be as awesome as Telus is. I recall when I was on Shaw, when their customers asked for more HD channels, all they every said was to complete a "Channel request form", but nothing rarely ever happened.

I've noticed on a friend's Shaw bill, that they are still charging their customers for "HD"!  Would you know if Shaw will be also charging for 4K, when ever they get it?

Enjoy your Shaw!

Are you suggesting that TELUS should update Optik just for the sake of updating it? Why fix something if it isn't broken?

I'm glad TELUS isn't trying to add a bunch of new features that nobody will like or use. Fix the bugs and make the existing feature work well and I'll be happy. Change solely for the sake of change is not a good idea.

I think Telus did update Optik tv this year but it was only the price of it. If it's not broke don't fix it.
