have t=you rebooted both the PVR, and the ONT box (where the fibre optic comes to the house if you have fibre optic). Let the ONT completely reboot before turning the PVR on.
Else, give Telus a call directly.

The ONT cannot be rebooted because of the battery backup. (No one should ever touch the battery or its connections.) The router / Actiontec connected to the ONT can be rebooted. That's assuming this user has a fiber connection in the first place.
A lost signal can also be caused by being on an incorrect input OP did not clearly state the exact message on screen and if it was from the Telus box or not.
