Wireless Internet - Remote location.

I have a setup in remote location near Bashaw Alberta using the Telus LTE internet right now and am looking for upgrade ideas.

Currently the area claims to have "advanced LTE" support but this is somewhat lacking.

Using the Huawei E3276 plugged direct into laptop it gets about 3Mbit down 1Mbit up, I made an antenna setup with an wilson cell booster in line for it to the top of the house and am able to get now 18Mbit down 3Mbit up.

Its plugged into an Asus RTN66U and sees same speed right now and uses the router to deliver wifi to the few machines that need it...

Question is are there any newer devices (usb sticks or routers) that work on possibly a newer band or anything to get up the speeds to what is advertised as LTE Advanced? One with connection to external antenna would be ideal.

It really comes down to the distance from the tower (signal strength) to get the "speeds". Sounds like you're already a fair distance from a tower. Not sure how many DBi your antenna is that you're using. But you maybe able to squeeze out a bit more performance getting a higher gain antenna.

Thinking that its still using an older antenna and booster. The Wilson cellbooster is not advertised with LTE support and only shows 3G on the specs.  Though the adapter does lock onto LTE signal and doesn't downgrade it to 3G. Even though it is locked on LTE (green lite on adapter not blue) the speeds are terrible mainly upload is so bad Skype has a hard time.

Also think that the Antenna could be limiting factor with it being older product....

What do you think about the below as a replacement in conjunction with a booster that is rated for LTE?

Shows up to 6dbi boost but would love to find something in the 15dbi boost range that would boost the full Range of signals the telus tower can send.

Any better suggestions available locally?

You would think Telus offers some more equipment or information for rural customers in terms of antennas and boosters but none at all to be found. They simply hand you the USB adapter and say "Good Luck" just as if you were living in the city next to multiple strong signal towers.

Edit:

Slightly confused as to this. In the area the tower available has the following specs:

Basically only 700 and 1900 band. no 850, no 2100 or better

How are they claiming "Advanced LTE" in this area according to their coverage map???

Now.. compare this to the Rogers tower which is actually physically closer by roughly 60% with these bands available... Its also at a higher elevation.

With my IPhone 6 on Rogers on the main floor  i get 3G (not LTE) signal and exact same speeds i get with the telus internet setup antenna on roof.
