I had a Nokia 635, love it. True, not all the apps are available compare to Android and Apple but I find to Nokia to be reliable and easy to use. Hopefully, this move will give us more applications for the mobile devices. Google and Apple are already trying to get you to combine computers, tablets and mobile devices so why not microsoft.

So far, I'm not liking what I read about it.  Microsoft trying to 'compute in the cloud' the personal computer experience, which comes with new revenue generation method$. http://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-may-be-the-last-piece-of-microsofts-cloud-puzzle/

I keep my private files at my location and not in the open cloud(non-encrypted file storage).

Microsoft is doing the 'all-in-one' to lock people into the "buy all Windows OS products and use your auto-synced accounts from your Windows computer anywhere in the world".

Anyone running the Windows 10 pre-beta...  Microsoft warned that it has spyware/keylogger in that version for them to gather extra data than in past years of beta builds of Windows. Anyone using it with private information or passwords/usernames , kiss your security/privacy goodbye.

To note with Windows 8, when installing, you don't have to enter a Windows Email account. Either click 'not now' or have your ethernet cable unplugged to be able to easily get the 'later' dialog. No email account added will stop the Windows $tore purchase function. Apps on a desktop are not something I want. It still wants to install Windows 8.1... screw that.

When the Windows 10 beta comes out in April, I'll check it out on a virtual machine, but it may be another reason to do the full switch over to Linux http://www.linuxmint.com/index.php Once my windows 7 units no longer have updates(2020), or I can't do an install workaround if the motherboard fails.

Chrome, and soon Firefox, will have the codecs needed for Netflix and other asinine DRMed video sources.  My choice of software programs(office, internet, media, security) are not restricted to Windows only.

  • Telus Loggers? Since you may not know, this is the common use of the word logger
  • "WIND's 10" isn't a thing.
  • Beware of The Globe and Mail as they tend to write incomplete tech articles. In this case they crammed some of the announcements into a single page / handful of paragraphs. Any good tech site had a dozen pages minimum on Microsoft's announcements today.
  • NetMarketshare has flawed methodology and isn't reflecting the accurate global user-base. Most online statistics only capture a small portion of the internet and should not be directly relied upon as accurate.
