I tried watching the first half of the Super Bowl today on Telus Optic TV. Unfortunately most of the first half reception was frozen, pixelated and not watchable. When I did get 2 minutes of uninterrupted reception I had to endure the repetitive, annoying CTV promotion of its network programs that I will never, ever watch. Today was not an isolated incident. This type of service interruption happens at least once a week. I am seriously considering changing all of my services back to Shaw.
"YOU ARE TRAPPED. YOU CANNOT GO BACK TO SHAW WITHOUT PAYING HUGE PENALTIES."
you do know that the customer does not have to get a 3 year contract for TV/Internet/Phone ???
Signing a contract is optional.
The reality is that getting a 'free' TV/Computer is not free. Your long term committment is a subsidy for the bonus gift.
Free hardware rental is not free. A 3 year contract gurantees revenue for Telus and subsidised that free hardware rental.
You can buy your own TV hardware and then sell it on an online market place to recoup some of your cost if you cancel early.
Telus offers a contract as a lower cost option with usually no complaints, unless the service has issues. Understanding why your service has issues requires asking questions and learning why your service has issues.
If you have issues, please contact The Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services
They can help to resolve issues if Telus can not provide you with an adequate resolution.
