If you are using your own router behind a Gateway(that is not bridged), you will have double NAT.
If the above is this situation, you can put your own router into 'bridge mode' to then have the Telus gateway give out LAN address's. Provided your router has very robust choices in the firmware.
you can bridge a Telus gateway, providing the firmware is an older version.

If this is one of those Xbox things, Xbox can at times show a 'closed' NAT' when NAT is open.
