Has anyone else had recorded programs on their PVR just stop 5 to 15 minutes into the program?

Our TELUS OPTIK PVR stops playing some recordings anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes into the recording. The bar at the bottom of the screen often shows that the whole hour and 3 minutes of the program is recorded but playback just quits for no apparent reason. We've restarted the PVR several times.

Wondering if the hard disk is fragmented, etc...????

What model PVR do you currently have? What’s the remaining capacity % on the hard drive?

We got hold of TELUS last night and they tested it online, we need a new PVR and they are giving us fibre connectivity free, so we'll see how that goes.

Thanks

Just remember any recordings you have will be lost. As they’re not transferred over to the new receiver. Only scheduled recording times/channels will be carried over to the new receiver.

Yes for sure, that is an unfortunate reality. Although I bet there is actually a way to copy them using the USB port, if you had the appropriate software….

Cheers,

Unfortunately not. All the recordings are encrypted and each box has a unique encryption key. Even if you somehow got them on the other PVR, the new PVR would not be able to decrypt them.
