If I subscribe to cravetv directly from them instead of the telus app wil it affect my internet usage? I will only be using it through my cable box.

Hello,

To confirm the issue, Crave TV does not count towards your monthly bandwidth usage if you watch it through the Telus set top box.  However, if you view Crave TV on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop, it will count towards your monthly bandwidth usage.

I believe this thread relates. Crave TV through the PVR should not consume data. You should simply need to sign in with your existing Crave TV credentials.
