Call back confirm installation

Just Moved In
So as a Shaw user for 20 years I thought I would give Telus a try for my cable/internet. Seemed pretty simple. I get my call back the next day to confirm installation and person helping me kept leaving putting me on hold. Finally after 40 mins he came back and wanted a deposit for services, which was fine but what really got me is in the 40 minutes nothing was done. We had a install date that took 1 minute. Why is this other stuff not done before calling a potential customer and wasting their time? They must get hung up on a lot because he would come back every 5-10 mins saying are you still there? Poor service
