I have just moved to Telus Fibre and I love the speed when connected directly to the Telus Modem wireless network however when connecting to my Airport Extreme router, my speeds are around 5Mbps. I have already set the Telus Actiontech 3200 into Bridge mode so I'm not sure what else I can do. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really want to use my own router for several reasons.

Thanks in advance.

Josh

Just move the Ethernet cable that is plugged into the WAN port of your T3200M, and plug it into the WAN port of your AirPort.

If you have Telus Internet, but not Optik TV, you can try plugging the Airport directly to the ONT which converts the FibreOptic signal to Ethernet.

I don't have OpticTV. I'm new to fibre. What is the ONT? Is that the mode?

Do you know the set up with Optik TV?

I have T3200 - Airport Extreme and 4K optik TV, which one of the line goes directly into TV

Can I to directly into Airport Extreme WAN - then feedback one line back to T3200 to support Optik TV?

T3200M > TV

              > AirPort Extreme > rest of network.

No, you need the Multicast stream for the TV to bypass the AirPort.

My setup now in BSMT

Fiber to T3200M WAN

PORT 1 (Bridge) to Airport WAN (Create Wireless Network / DHCP and NAT)

Port to Switch to Upstairs, NAS, etc

PORT 4 to main Optik TV

Upstairs Office Wall Jack to Switch to connect Laptop / Printer, etc

Also have couple of other AirPorts to (Extend Wireless Network)

I put one of the wireless Optik TV with AirPort Express (Works OK)

I Can watch TVs including Apple TV BUT!! Laptop & iPhone wireless speeds are very slow at about 5MB...

Any Solution??

I think you’re going to need to test your setup stepwise to find the issue.

I think I figured out most of the stuffs now..

My process and configuration was right - except damm channels from AirPort Time Capsule (Create Wireless Network - 2.4GHz & 5GHz Channels were left "Automatic"

I used WiFiAnalyzer and changed both channels - soon after that speed went up from 5 Mbps to 200 Mbps.

Now I just need to figure out network printers...
