How about changing the 4K PVR so you can watch shows that you have recorded when Optic service is disrupted.

It makes no sense to me to say that internet is needed to watch a locally (right there in that little black box) recorded and stored (again, right there in that little black box). There is no technical reason to have it set up this way.  No other previous PVR has required that internet is required to watch a previously recorded show. I do not believe the BS someone from Telus claimed it was because of copyright infringement, you have always been able to legally record and play for service you have already paid for.

If you can legally record a show, then you can legally watch the show later, with or without internet.

The fact that only Telus prevents you from doing so (Shaw allows it) has nothing to do with copywrite infringement.
