Great post XL

Just to elaborate on that.

Your starting monthly fee is $5.00 and you get up to 10MB of data

What we call Tier 2 would be from 11MB of data to 100MB (if you used that much you would pay $10.00 for the month.

As you use more MB or GB for the month you only pay to the next tier.

For example if you used 2GB of data for the month you would pay $35.00 (Tier for up to 3GB) as you went over 1GB.

From this like that XL provided:

Data Included3 (In Canada)

Up to 10MB is          $5
Up to 100MB is        $10
Up to 1GB is             $20
Up to 3GB is             $35
Up to 5GB is             $50

Hope this helps explain the breakdown.

Flex data is great for those who don't know how much data they need, or those who data consumption goes up and down each month.

Previously you would purchased a fixed block of data.  Too big.... you paid too much if you did not use it all.  Too small.... you pay surcharge penalties.  The Flex plans is more forgiving...
