The long-awaited new adaptation of the classic video game series.
I've been waiting for this series for what seems like an eternity, and I'm pumped that it's finally almost here! As a massive fan of slow-burning detective noir stories, American Rust looks to be right up my alley. Jeff Daniels stars as complicated police chief Del Harris who watches over a small Pennsylvania town. When a murder (in a town that never sees much crime) tears the town apart at the seams, it's up to Harris to decide what lengths he's willing to take to protect those he cares about...and his town at the same time.
That looks fantastic. I'm definitely getting a True Detective meets The Outsider meets Cardinal vibes and I'm here for it. What makes these series appeal to me is always three main things: the acting, the cinematography, and the story. I love when stories like this take place in smaller locations, which makes the impact of such a serious crime seem almost overwhelming. You can be sure there are going to be some crazy twists and turns as the story unfolds and I can't wait to watch it all. American Rust premieres on Sunday September 12, with new episodes dropping weekly. Check it out!
What I'm Watching Now
Crave is full of classic series that you may have always wanted to watch or want to binge again...here's what I'm watching!
Where to begin with Deadwood? Are you a fan of westerns? Do you love shows chock full of characters that you'll never forget? Only interested in shows that receive positive reviews? Hey, whatever works. Deadwood is just the ticket. I've already watched through the series twice, and now that all three seasons are on Crave along with the long-awaited follow up movie from 2019, you can finally see what all the hype is about.
Deadwood is set in the 1870's in South Dakota, before and after the area's annexation of the Dakota Territory. Featuring an ensemble cast including Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, and Molly Parker, this series follows the evolution of Deadwood from a small mining camp through to a full fledged town...full of lawlessness and many famous historical characters. I love this show so much, and it's easy to see why it was so popular when originally airing on HBO. The sets and costumes portray the era perfectly, and you can practically smell the saloon during every scene. You're sure to enjoy this one if you love watching shows full of anti-heroes that you can't help but root for. Deadwood is full of them.
This critically acclaimed series (and fantastic full length movie) is streaming now on Crave. Don't miss it!
