Private messaging allows direct communication between Neighbourhood members. Follow these steps to send a private message.
Sign in to your TELUS Neighbourhood account. If you don't have an account, you'll need to create one first.
Send a Private Message From Another Member’s Profile
- Navigate to the profile of the member you want to message. You can do this by clicking on their username in a post or comment.
- On the member's profile page, locate and click the Message button. This button is typically found near the top of the profile.
- A new message window will open. Enter your message in the text box provided.
- Click Send to deliver your private message to the recipient.
- The recipient will receive a notification about the new message. They can view and respond to it in their private message inbox.
From your inbox
- Click on the Messages icon at the top right of the webpage.
- Click on the Create New Message button in the top right corner of your Inbox pane.
- In the Send to field, type in the username of the member.
- Press the tab key on your keyboard after typing in the username to format and select the username.
- Enter a subject and a message to send. Once complete, click on the Send Message button at the bottom.
If These Steps Don't Work
If you can't find the "Message" button on a user's profile, it's possible that:
- The user has disabled private messaging in their account settings.
- Your account doesn't have sufficient privileges to send private messages yet.
- There may be a temporary technical issue with the messaging feature.
