SCAM security call
Every three weeks I receive an automated call from 1-855-509-5413 claiming to be Telus Smart Security telling me that I am the contact number for my parents' address and that there is a security issure and requests me tell the residence of that address to call 1-855-844-8435 and gives an incident number related to the file. My parents are no longer with Telus Smart Homes so the call is obviously a scam. What is concerning to me is the amount of correct information they have. They have my name, my parents' address, the fact that I am the emergency contact, my home phone and my cellphone which the scammers call immediately after calling my home number. This leads me to believe Telus is either selling our information or they had a data breach that they neglected to tell their customers about.

Today, I got 2 identical calls, no personal information provided on the message, both say call back to 855-844-8435. I have never purchased Telus Home Security, but previously owners of home number did. Home # under my name was ported over to Eastlink when I took it over and has never been with Telus. You would have the home number on file because we purchased High Speed service at our summer place last fall. My cell contract with Telus is 1 yr old. These numbers are never provided together to my contacts, as home number is for husband, as he is not tech savvy. It certainly does appear that there is a breach or sharing of information. Has the company been hacked, and personal information has been shared??

Same thing happened here. I received the call from 1-855-509-5413 asking me to contact 1-855-844-8435 with an incident number. It's funny because my friend helped me set up this account - she set it up with my nickname, and also spelled my last name wrong. The automated call had my incorrect name (Only Telus had this wrong name)

stephl08 Very strange. We want to look over your account to see if someone had reached out. We'll send a private message your way.

Same scenario here. My home phone, then my cell..telling me I was the contact number for someone I haven't seen in years. Disturbing where "they" got this info...
