Just cancelled home security
I was a happy TMC customer and purchased my own equipment. Telus took over and I’m not happy with the service. I’ve had my alarm trigger accidentally twice and Telus never bothered to call to check on it either time. So why am I paying them? TMC would call with 20 seconds.
They haven’t incorporated my account in to their home security app even though the account is linked. I’m sure they’ll quietly increase fees and continue to not actually provide service.
Thankfully the cancellation process was easy and I got a confirmation email that my service will be cancelled at the end of my billing period.
All this is making me reconsider my mobility service as well. I don’t have usable service at home and rely on wifi calling.

I also was an ADT customer now switched to Telus. With ADT I could go online and monitor all my security system activity, including all the scheduled tests & test results and alarm settings on and off. I cannot find any of that on the Telus system and now wonder if my security system is being monitored.
Question for Telus - where is that information found ? Is that information available if my insurance company asks for it.
- JACKBFriendly NeighbourGood Morning and thank you for your reply. My system is an older ADT Honeywell Lynx Plus so probably so considered a Smart Security installation ?So do I have access to The TELUS SmartHome Security platform ?If no, then do I have access to any record of my historical security activity and access to any regular test logs. With ADT I had all that information plus access to my emergency contact list and could update as needed, which again I don't appear to have now with Telus.Again , many thanks for the work monitoring the community forum and answering concerns and comments direct. Much appreciatedOn Monday, November 10, 2025 at 07:38:05 AM EST, TELUS Neighbourhood <[email protected]> wrote:Hi JACKB,

Re: Just cancelled home security
The online portal you had with ADT is different from the current TELUS SmartHome Security platform. Depending on your system type, some features such as detailed test logs or historical alarm activity may not be visible online but are still actively monitored by our central station.

As of October 1, 2025, ADT by TELUS customers now access their accounts through the new MyTELUSsecurity.com portal, which replaces MyADT.ca. All your existing settings including your emergency contact list and Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) details have been transferred automatically. You will still have professional monitoring active on your account, but online access to detailed activity history or test logs is not available for legacy ADT systems.

Same with us, we cancelled for the exact same reason. We never had a single problem with ADT for 31 years. After having major issues with trying to upgrade our internet equipment to wifi 6, we ported our mobile phones from Telus to Freedom Mobile after being with them since 2006.
