Prepaid plan with a promo

I purchased a Talk and Text 100 plan with a promotion on April 21, 2025. The promo was - unlimited talk and text + 2GB data monthly. I paid for the whole year. Started receiving warnings about impending expiry of air time a week after purchase. Called Telus support many times, they kept assuring me everything was fine and these messages should be ignored. After a month I can't make or receive calls anymore, any mention of the promotion disappeared from my online Telus account, my balance shows as 0.00 and the system asks for a top-up. What the hell is this ? I paid for the whole year in advance.
