Pending Bill after 7 years after closing the account?

Hmm I've been receiving emails from them too about a $300 balance, but the account number GCS listed in their email is not mine! I have to wonder if GCS is working with a messed up database or if they just decided to make a buck by messaging random people. You can always file a dispute about the claim on TransUnion, which can get the debt removed from your credit score if you can prove it's not yours
An update to this:
I called Telus and they did confirm that they had created a final bill with a very similar account that was mentioned to me by General Credit Services. However, I was told that since the account was so old it was never sent to any collection agency. So how did General Credit Services get all my information?
Agent's guess is someone with Telus who had access to my information secretly shared it to GCS. What a shame!
