I Can't Top Up Account Because My Balance Is Too Low (Despite I'm Using A Credit Card)

I get an error that says, 'Your account balance is too low to complete the purchase of the feature(s) you've selected. Please top up your account.'

I'm using a credit card which is has no overdue charges. Is this happening to anyone else?

How do I set buy or change my prepaid plan?

    I found a workaround.
    1. Acquire SIM card.
    2. Sign up for a new account.
    3. Pick any number.
    4. Transfer phone number.

Unfortunately, my number is not yet available and I wish I had've known this before.

Thank you, but what if you want to buy another plan instead?
Before, I was using the Talk & Text 100 for a year; it expires on October 13th. I wish to change to Nationwide Talk, Text & Data 150.

Thanks for reaching out! That message usually appears when the account balance doesn’t cover the total cost of the add-on or plan change, even if your credit card itself is fine. To fix this:

    1. Top up your prepaid balance first (even if you plan to pay with a credit card). You can do this through the My TELUS app.
    2. Once topped up, go back and try to buy or change your plan again.

If you’re still running into the same error, please send us a private message, and we’ll take a closer look at your account to help get this sorted out.
