Wi-Fi Booster 7 x Connect app
Hi everyone,
I recently moved and was upgraded from a TELUS Wi-Fi Booster 6 to a Wi-Fi Booster 7. The Booster 7 is connected and working (solid green light, Wi-Fi is stable), but it does not appear at all in the TELUS MyConnect app. The app only shows the old Booster 6.
This is an issue because I want to use my old Booster 6 as a secondary node to extend coverage upstairs. TELUS instructions say boosters should form a mesh once added in the app, but I can’t add the Booster 7 at all. The QR code won’t scan, and manual setup just searches and fails to find the device.
I managed to add the Booster 6, but it shows a red light and no internet connection, likely because the Booster 7 isn’t recognized. I’ve tried multiple restarts, factory resets, and setting up the Booster 6 with and without Ethernet cable connected, no luck.
- Has anyone successfully added a Wi-Fi Booster 7 to the Connect app?
- Is Booster 7 currently unsupported or incompatible?
- Is there a workaround to create a mesh with Booster 7 + Booster 6?
Thanks in advance!

What you’re running into is unfortunately a known limitation, not something you’re doing wrong. Wi-Fi Booster 7 does not currently appear in the TELUS My Wi-Fi / MyConnect app. Because of that, Booster 7 can’t be added via QR code or manual discovery, which is why the app keeps failing to find it. Booster 6 and Booster 7 are not mesh-compatible together. They can’t form a single mesh network, which explains why your Booster 6 shows a red light and no connection when paired with the Booster 7. The Booster 7 works fine on its own (solid green = good), but you can’t extend it using a Booster 6. If you need mesh coverage upstairs, you’ll need an additional Wi-Fi Booster 7 instead of reusing the Booster 6.
