What does it mean to have PureFibre 500?

I have purefibre 500 which is supposed to be 500 mbps up & down. In a post a few months ago I asked why speed tests only showed 350-400~

Now today and this past week it does not go over 100 down or up.

  • I received an email asking that I mark this thread as solved even tough there is no explanation why we are not getting what we pay for.

  • Purefibre 500 is 500 Mbps.  You’ll never get the maximum speed on wifi, it always varies up and down.   Try doing a test using a computer via ethernet cable to see if you get 500Mbps down and up.  Try doing a test on fast.com.   You can also try changing channels to see if your wifi speed improves.  Location in the house can also affect wifi speeds.

Actually it is all over the place, all the time.

phone on wifi just got 512up and 414 down

      Laptop on wifi got 233up & 507dn

      phone 514/400

      Laptop 291/492

BUT why under 100 until I start speed tests?

  • Amazing, a few minutes after posting I get 283 up and 516 down. Almost like Ai sees me doing speed tests and throttles up.
