Using a MacBook Air as a phone
Evidently there are "apps" that would let me use my MacBook Air to make phone calls. But, the one I briefly tried required settings I do not have. Something referred to as SIM settings. The sample setup box implied a website address and a password.
Anyone have info on making this work..

Yes, for instance, Skype is one well known example of an App that lets you make and receive phone calls on your MacBook Air.

If you wish to make calls without a phone you can get various VOIP programs to do this:

I don't use a Mac so I cannot confirm the validity of this information.
