UGLY GREEN BOXES
As a Town employee and recent bylaw officer the green boxes serve no purpose in our Town other than an eye sore. We have residents who have these abutting their properties and have enquired about getting them removed. How or who do i contact about this?

Hi TOWNOFGRIMSHAW - Are you referring to the boxes in streets that house the cabling infrastructure?

Nighthawk's reply above is the correct answer. If you visit that page and follow those steps, it'll lead to a form that you can submit that goes straight to our field team.

If the pedestals are damaged, they can be reported for repair by:
- going to https://www.telus.com/en/ab/outages
- Click on the green Report an Outage button in the top right.
- Select Report an Outage on the right.
- Fill out the form with the details regarding the damage and location.
Depending on the extent of the damage it may take some time as regular field techs won't be able to fix a damaged pedestal.

Pedestals and other more localized boxes are usually distribution points for the copper and/or fibre lines in a smaller area. I'd be surprised if the boxes aren't in use. They allow Telus employees to service and maintain the connections quicker. They're also typically installed in utility rights of way / easements. Unless the boxes in question are not in use at all, I would suspect that removing or relocating them is unlikely.
