Telus Wifi Hub and Google Home Mini speaker

Thanks FuzzyLogic , I have now been through all of those steps, but still no luck. Oh well, keep on searching I guess.
Additional troubleshooting steps
10) try a new phone
11) disable the 5GHz signals on the router
12) reduce the number of devices connected to wifi
13) uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app
