Telus Tv+ app
Hello
u am a subscriber to Optik TV using the legacy 4k dvd decoder (which is super slow )
with Telus now moving toward Android / Google TV is it now possible to only use the Telus Tv+ app (without the Android tv top box ) to watch tv subscription and manage/view recordings ? In speaking with customer service they seemed quizzed by this question as in my mind being an owner of a Sony Google Tv enabled tv, just using the app and cloud dvr should be sufficient without any additional devices and additional fees for device rentals which to me are obsolete in 2025
Is Telus supporting this ?
At this time, the TELUS TV+ app can be used to watch live TV, on-demand content, and cloud PVR recordings, but a TELUS Android TV digital box is still required for full functionality, including access to all subscribed channels and features. While the app offers a great experience on compatible devices like your Sony Google TV, some features may be limited compared to using a TELUS-provided set-top box.
