Telus Internet speed

I have Telus high speed package 1G, however when I check the internet speed it is showing 1.2 Mbps?

    Hello! Are you seeing this slower speed over Wi-Fi or even with hardwired devices? Have you tried rebooting your equipment to see if that resolves the issue?

      slower speed over WiFi.   Rebooting of all equipment done, and still same issue.
      a Telus tech came and changed the Nokio Box, which was causing some errors, however the internet is still very slow. I am getting reading 400-950 Kps, but I am paying for 1G pure fiber.
      this is hindering kids school assignments, and learning, and I am not able to finish my projects ,and other internet related tasks.
      please advise

        Don't know if this will work for you - but was having a similar issue couple of days ago, speeds were between 5 - 100 mpbs - affected my work. Recurring issue requiring multiple resets with Telus over the phone.

         

        Any fixes were very temporary (hours, maybe a day). Found something recently that helped.

         

        I noticed on my boost 6's admin settings page that all my devices were choosing 2.4ghz over the 5 GHz (I didn't have a seperate network for both bands, but 1, and thought my devices would always choose the faster speed).

         

        I turned off the 2.4 GHz (don't have any devices that can only hook up to this band) and my speeds returned to ~600 mpbs immediately (expected for 1gb over wifi vs directly plugged in)

         

        Maybe if it worked for me it can work for you
