T3200 and my own mesh wifi

Not tech savvy at all so looking for help. I have the T3200 modem installed into the garage and an Actiontec attached by coax cables on the main floor that has an ethernet cable attached to a Telus router (or extender?). I am wondering if it was possible to attach the ethernet cable to my own router (D-Link DIR-L1900 Mesh router) and connect all my devices wireless that way. What do I need to do so that I don't see both wifi signals from my T3200 modem and also the wifi coming out of my mesh?

  • Yes, you can do that, however, if you have Optik TV, it will need to hardwire or connect to the T3200M Wi-Fi signal. You could run both Wi-Fi SSID if you wish.
You can turn off the T3200M Wi-Fi SSID in the settings of the router.
