Roku stick has killed Optik box HDMI

7 months agoIf you haven't already tried it you should plug the HDMI cable from Optik directly into you TV (no splitter) and ensure you have the correct HDMI port selected on the TV.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried & no different. The box must still be alive because the WiFi box can see the recordings etc. I'm assuming something with the newer Roku device screwed up the Optik box HDMI output via the splitter but I don't know how that's possible. Is the small round connection some kind of video output that might allow me to view on a small tv to troubleshoot?

I believe the round connector is for analog output. You would need a special cable to use that. Do you have another TV you could try connecting the box to?

My local Telus tech gave me a cable for this output. Only video out that works is the single yellow one, no settings had changed on the box. Tried the HDMI codec enabled, also tried all resolution/screen sizes. No good still so the HD output is screwed. Guess I will be stuck with getting a new box that can't retain any favourite recordings.
