Recordings go black screen on TV+

We do not have a PVR , just watchlive Tv on Telus TV+  app on a google TV. 

Recordings sometimes go black, audio is fine, after fast forwarding. Never happens with skip forward, just after using fast forward.

any tips on how to avoid? we are a new install just a week in.

    This issue can occur usually based on how Google TV handles variable bitrates during a manual fast forward versus a skip forward command. In short, when using fast forward the app requests a stream of frames/images to show you the preview as you're doing it so this can take a bit to process. Skip forward usually avoids this as it's requesting a specific point at which to start playing so it's less info for it to process.

     

    A few tips: If you get the black screen after a fast forward, try hitting pause and waiting a few seconds for the buffer to catch up. You can also try using the 30 second skip (the right d-pad arrow or on-screen button) especially for commercials as it's significantly more stable. You can also always check for OS updates or try clearing the cache by going to Settings --> Apps --> TELUS TV+ --> Clear Cache. This can often smooth out playback stuttering. Hope that helps!
