Received Unsolicited TELUS Outdoor Camera to Late Parent's Estate

Hello,

I received an unexpected Outdoor Camera to my PO Box addressed to my late parent's estate over 1 year after their death. I had previously closed their account with Telus and had not even received promotion about the product and service. Nothing more accompanied the parcel beyond the packaging. No letter explaining the promotion, offer from a telemarketer, or any documentation besides the paper in the Outdoor Camera packaging like the other posts which I've read regarding this question.

Furthermore, before I opened the package, I noticed the tamper-proof tape with the lion cub (one of Telus' mascots) was torn and a clear adhesive sticker was holding the box closed was over top the tear. Upon opening the box, I found it to be a bit dirty and a couple loose screws at the bottom of the box, under the camera. The box also had the typical wear that comes from opening it at least a few times. I assume these details are because it was previously returned/refurbished?

My question is, has anybody experienced this before? I never received any notice this package was arriving, let alone accept any offers and the charges that will accompany them. I certainly will not be paying the postage to return this camera to Telus, nor will I be installing an unsolicited camera for the security concerns should it have been modified or accessed by a third party through some backdoor malware.

I know I sound paranoid, but I do not want to risk the safety of my family and my property, no matter how unlikely it may be.

Hi! That is certainly very odd. Are you able to take a picture of it to show us?
