Received a collections notice before my final bill.

We had just recently left home services, as we were having major Internet problems with Telus for a couple months.

We were told that we would not be charged anything, when we cancelled. But now I have received a $207 bill from General credit services Inc. Stating that we owe money.

I paid this bill. I just find it very frustrating that we never received a final bill online or in the mail. Especially since we were told we would not be charged..

  • The same thing has happened to me in September. I cancelled, was told I wouldn’t be charged as I was in the 30 days allowed for cancellation and then I was sent a bill. I called and spoke to an agent explaining the situation. He then spoke to someone else. He came back on the phone and said I didn’t have pay the bill, but that it might take a couple of months to clear but not to worry about it.
I never received another bill and Telus did not contact me.
However in October I started getting text messages from General Services. My bank said it was a scam and disregard, however I decided to call them. Turns out Telus had sent me collections. I paid the bill but I won’t be dealing with Telus again.
We had them for about 40 years. They sure aren’t who they were. Not sure what people can do about the issues they’re having like us.
    Glad yours was resolved.

We can definitely look into your billing to see what happened here. To get access to your account, we'd need to verify it first so send a private message to our TELUS_Support handle and we can discuss further!
