Question regarding the NH20A 10gb port
Just upgraded my internet speed from 1gb to 3gb. I have a 5gb port on my pc so realistically I want to take advantage of it even though it may or may not even make or notice a difference. My questi...

29 days agoHi Wai_lai416 - The Nokia box that is at the highest point in the picture should not be active anymore as you don't need it. From there, the NAH on the far-left has the 10Gb port. You can install a 5 or 10Gb switch there if you want to connect your PC via ethernet. Your router (the trashcan looking device) needs to also be connected to this port. So there are options to get this done, but it is outside of our scope

Thx I can figure out the rest myself as long as I can get the 10gb port freed up. Actually my other question would be does the Telus wifi 7 thing which I haven’t gotten yet tech call is 2 weeks and my current wifi 6 booster work if I bridge the NA20H or those boosters require the NA20H as the router to function

Since I'm not sure what photo El-Eric is referring to, I'll provide some additional info for you based on my experience with the hardware.
- The NH20A or Network Access Hub, as Telus calls it, will be the gateway/router in this case. Unless explicitly necessary, and you have a new router to go between the NH20A and your own devices, bridging should be avoided.
- If the fibre is connected to the NH20A/NAH, then as El-Eric suggested putting a 10G switch on that port would be an idea. If the fibre is still running to the Nokia ONT and not the NH20A/NAH, the upgrade to 3gbps likely missed a few steps on Telus's side.
- The Boost itself cannot be bridged as it is merely a wireless access point and not a router. Any IP addresses obtained by devices connected to it would come from the NH20A. Definitely avoid connecting it to any bridged connection. The Boost can also be connected using MoCA / coax instead of using the 10G port on the NH20A/NAH.
- The white cylindrical trashcans from Telus come in 2 flavours. The Wi-Fi Boost units and the older Wi-Fi Hub gateway/router which the NH20A replaced. The Boost 6 has one purple 2.5G LAN port. The Wi-Fi Hub has only 4 gigabit LAN ports. Normally Telus won't leave two routers/gateways together at the same residence.
