Question Regarding Fibre Installation in a Condo

Your 70's vintage building would have had the thin fibre installed where the ceiling meets the wall in the common hallway. Above your suite door should/could be a connection box from which they run fibre into your unit. I doubt fibre was run anywhere else in a 70's building as they were not pre done with conduit into which it could be fished.
The person checking a wall plug which is copper found dead lines, which suggests you do not have a landline.
At least here they have not mated fibre into existing copper though it can be done with some loss of speed.
Ask your condo council or manager if the fibre was roughed into your building. I suspect your order is messed up by order taker assuming you have fibre.
