port forward issues
Hello, I'm trying to set the port forward on the Telus Wifi Hub (ARCA02238F96). Like, for instance, I want to do the port forward on Private IP: 192.168.1.120 . The booster has IP: 192.168.1....
ok so i played around with it for a bit and it seems the telus wifi hub expects some sort of config update ping as part of the mesh network every 100 seconds.
the booster or hub (not sure which) seems to keep track of ports the booster owns and sends the update to the router to update the port forwarding rules.
the router also seems to cache the latest updates so even if the booster is offline it still updates the rules every 100 seconds
i was able to forward my ports by shutting off the booster, restarting the router, and then setting my ports. after i made sure the ports weren’t being overwritten i reenabled the booster and stopped touching it. hopefully that works for u too
note: i also turned factory reset and turned off the (telus) mesh settings of the booster at some point but can’t recall at what point in the trouble shooting process
