NHL Centre Ice Channel Delays
I’ve noticed recently that some feeds on NHL Centre Ice channels are very delayed. For example: I have a game on right now (TBL@SEA) on channel 1105 and I received a notification on my phone that one of the teams had scored but didn’t see it on screen until at least 3 mins later. Why is this occurring?

I get the normal slight delays but this is way out there. To add, later on I switched to the Tampa Bay local broadcast, which was on 1106 and that feed was as close to live as you can get so there is definitely an issue. I've been subscribing to NHL Centre Ice for several years now and have never experienced these kind of delays before.

These sorts of delays are normal on internet delivered TV, though 3 minutes is a lengthy delay. Even within a house there are delays between TV showing the same program. As an interesting aside, there are a series of special installations to get all the TV in a sports bar synchronized.
