New Telus Android Digital Boxes
Yesterday I installed the new REQUIRED Telus Android Digital boxes. Immediately i discovered the following ENHANCEMENTS.
- all of my recordings and settings are gone despite assurances recent would be retained
- No way to size CC text on apps. Eg. Britbox CC is barely visible
- Recording functions are severely limited
- Cannot search for shows. Guide only provides 12 days)
- No way to extend recording times for events such as auto racing which is frequently delayed
- internet service is now lagging
And inresponse Telus Service has been horrible!

That’s what I understood! They haven’t
Because supposedly the old boxes will no longer work according to the email I received from Telus,

As TubeGeek mentioned, recordings from the last 90 days should transfer over. Let us know if they don't and we can investigate.
Changed boxes on Monday. As of today the recordings have not been moved
What do you mean by "REQUIRED"? Why would it be required?

Regarding your auto racing recordings - the system automatically adds 60 min of post-padding when you record a live game.
Unfortunately that is often nor enough!

Hi! Thanks for writing this feedback to us, we have a few manual workarounds to see if it fixes anything!
For Captions: Launch the Britbox app directly. While a show is playing, press Down or Options on your remote to pull up the in-app video player settings. You must manually adjust the caption size inside the specific app's interface rather than the Telus menu.
Recording Times:
Navigate to your Recordings screen.
Scroll over to Series or Scheduled.
Select the event/show you want to modify and press OK.
Select Change Settings.
Scroll down to Stop Recording and change it from On Time to an extra 30, 60, or 120 minutes. Select Save Changes.That is for the old Optik boxes. No longer available on the Android box.
Aren’t those record time settings for the legacy 4K boxes, not the Android box?

When you switch to the new boxes, recordings from the last 90 days would be transferred over within 48 hours of turning on the box.
