New remote is a huge downgrade

I just connected our new (required) digital box.  The remote is a huge, inefficient downgrade from the other one.  The worst is deleting recorded shows!  There are so many inefficient steps required to delete one show.  Ridiculous!  The previous remote was set up very well with many handy, well thought-out buttons and functions.  It was so easy to delete a show you were watching or a show that was under the pvr button.  On the guide, it was easy to move ahead 24 hours.  There was an 'info' button on the remote that quickly/easily showed the date/channel/program name.   

I understand the need for the new digital box; however, the remote should be as good or better than the previous one.  Unfortunately, this is not.  Previous comments indicate solutions to some of these complaints (ie. deleting recorded programs) are coming soon...but those comments are one to two years old.  Some show the complaint as 'solved' when clearly it is not. 

Telus: you need to do better.  It shouldn't be so difficult to program an efficient, well-designed remote.
