my emails are randomly being deleted
Last month, while in the mail app on my iphone, suddenly 5 months worth of emails randomly deleted from my account. I thought I had accidentally deleted them. Then it happened again last week, exactly the past 5 months of emails. I have been unable to get them back. I tried getting them from the server, but they are gone from there as well. Just now, while on my macbook, the past 2 years of my emails disappeared, then reappeared. Has anyone else had this happen?

Hey nrog - we're following the conversation you're having with FuzzyLogic.
One account type syncs emails that are on the server and deleting them off your device won't delete them from the server. The other type will.
Are you using the Mail app on both devices? Are you connected using the Google option?

Have you configured mail as per the instructions here:

What program are you using on your iPhone to access email? Most now default to IMAP but possibly yours is using POP.

Definitely strange. Are you using POP or IMAP to access your email? POP is often configured to download and delete from server so that may a possibility.
Have you tried logging in via a web browser to see the status of the messages on the server?

Yes I’ve looked on webmail and they’re gone. It says Gmail STMP server in my iPhone settings. IMAP on my MacBook.
