Your pixma is Airprint compatible. Set the printer up on the network first (do this on the printer). Then on your Mac go to: "System Settings>Printers and Scanners>Add Printer, Scanner or FAX", and you will see your printer. Airprint will configure all options your printer has (printer, scanner etc). You do not need to download or install any drivers. They are built in.
