Laneway house connection?
Hi!
I’ve tried calling customer support but get nowhere with this.
I currently have Telus home services (phone, internet) to my house. We have built a new Laneway home on the same property. The city requires we run a new Telus service to the Laneway home underground, and also take the older main homes service from overhead and also place underground.
Who do I contact to begin this process on Telus’s end?
thank you!

Hey ryanmaccdn - Is the Laneway a different address altogether from the main home? So we would need a new line going to the newly-built home underground and the existing service needs to be moved from an aerial drop to underground?

Yes, that is correct. The current address of the main old house is 1234 Mainstreet , the laneway home will become 3-1234 Mainstreet and the Older main home becomes 1-1234 mainstreet.
and yes the services from the street pole need to go underground to the edge of the property and then split to the new laneway and old house, and then remove the arial lines from the old main house.
help! Who do I contact to begin this?

So for a new address anyone of our customer service team members will be able to assist. Typically we construct new drops when an order is placed for services but we can reach out to a dedicated team to inquiry whether or not the new address has been added to our system.
Regarding the existing house, we can field a technician to move the drop but there may be a fee associated with that (there are a few factors that can affect this) but technical support or customer service can help with this.
What we would like to do is send you a private message to gather more specific details and then send this to our support team to handle.
