Issues with IP addresses not being assigned
I am having issues with IP addresses not being assigned when I have a switch plugged in at a specific outlet. The issue doesn't occur right away, the network will be fine for a day or two, sometimes ...

2 years agoMy guess is damage to the Ethernet cable between the 16 port switch and the problem outlet.
I’d suggest some further troubleshooting:
- try different port on 16 port switch
- test the connected devices elsewhere
- consider running a temporary ethernet patch cable between the two points to see if the existing cable is the problem.

I've tried troubleshooting the outlet however it doesn't look like it is the outlet or cables. The network is fine if I remove the switch at the outlet and just have the Telus wireless AP plugged into the outlet. The problem only occurs when I have the switch plugged into the outlet and the Telus AP plugged into the switch. Perhaps the Telus modem stops assigning IP addresses after a certain amount of devices are connected to the network?
